THE CIRCLE LINE
The Circle Line is unusual in that the builders of the rail network did not set out to make it, it grew gradually out of what was aready there; namely the Metropolitan and District railways, with the section between Mansion House and Aldgate being completed in 1884. The end result was an excellent way of connecting the major London mainline termini.
There are 13 miles of track on the line connecting the 27 stations.
